Paper, also known as paper.nu (https://www.paper.nu) is a student-built course scheduling tool for Northwestern University. It supports 4-year plans and creating schedules for each quarter. It’s used by thousands of students and advisors from all around the university and is free to use. You can view course information all in one place, share and export plans and schedules, save several of them to your account, and much more.

Paper is purely a web app and only requires an internet browser. The user interface adapts depending on your screen size, so you’ll always have the best experience possible no matter which device you use. Of course, using it on a larger screen will allow you to see more, and, for a scheduling tool that shows you a lot of data and visuals, using a computer or tablet is recommended.
Course data is automatically refreshed every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday by the afternoon. If courses for a new quarter are available in CAESAR, they’ll be available the earliest Monday/Wednesday/Friday afternoon after that.
Course data will be available for quarters within the past 8 years. You can switch between quarters using the “Change term” button below the search bar in the schedule view.
If you notice some missing or broken course data, you can try refreshing your data manually with the data Paper’s data system has. On Paper, press Settings at the top right, then General, then use Clear local course data cache. If that doesn’t fix it, you can let me know.
